Infielder Cliff Pennington avoided salary arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.275 million contract with the D-Backs, a baseball source told ESPN.com Sunday.
Pennington, 30, is a .248 career hitter with a .665 OPS over parts of seven seasons with Oakland and Arizona.
The Phillies and left-hander Wandy Rodriguez agreed to a Minor League contract on Saturday, according to CSNPhilly.com.
The reported deal is pending a physical, and the Phillies have not commented.
